Mr. and Mrs. Carl Higginbotham will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary at an open house at their home, 128 S. Main St., Pendleton. Friends and relatives will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sept. 30.

The couple was married Sept. 28, 1923, by the Rev. Shoffett in Arkansas. They are both retired from Delco-Remy Division where they were employed for 37 years.

They are the parents of Mrs. Sharon Williams, Anderson; and raised two nieces and a nephew, Mrs. Katherine Higginbotham, Andersen; Vesta Lou Winters, Sherman, Texas, and Worthy Campbell Jr., Pendleton. They have two grandsons.

Announcement has been made of the marriage of Miss Cassie Hardesty, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Hardesty of Fayetteville, to Hilbert Higinbotham, son of Mr. and Mrs. W, M. Higginbotham of Zanesville, Ohio. The ceremony took place  September 1 at the home of the officiating minister, the Rev. O. L. Lierly. the bridegroom recently received hsi discharge from the service after 18 months in the South Pacific area.

The engagement of Miss Janice Jean Higginbotham to Kenneth M. Terry has been announced by the bride-elect's mother, Mrs. Flora Higginbotham, 121 S. Gregg. Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Terry, Rt. 2, are parents of the future bridegroom. the wedding is planned for Nov. 14.

Miss Lackey is wed to Mr. Higginbotham
Billie Paulette Lackey of Conway and Jeremy Lawrence Higginbotham of Maud, Texas, were united in marriage at 1 p.m. Saturday (June 17, 2000) on Hot Springs Mountain in Hot Springs.
The bride is a daughter of Preston and Billie Lackey of Jasper. The groom is a son of Michael and Debbie Flowers of Maud and Tim and Teresa Higginbotham of Little Rock.
The Rev. Carmen Moshier of Hot Springs officiated at the double-ring ceremony.
The outdoor wedding ceremony took place in a pagoda overlooking the city of Hot Springs. Arrangements of white flowers and green ferns adorned with pink bows flanked the ceremony. White lace, green ivy and pink ribbon also decorated the pagoda.
The bride walked to "Bottomless Love." The song "Crash" was immediately played after the vows.
The bride wore a full-length, sleeveless, pale mint green dress with an ivory lace overlay. She wore a pearl necklace with a diamond and pearl drop pendant with matching earrings. Her headpiece was a beaded pearl headband. She carried a bouquet of pale pink roses, accented with ivory, and baby's breath tied with pink and lace ribbon.
A luncheon and reception followed the ceremony at Gilligan's Restaurant.
After a honeymoon in Hot Springs, the couple are at home in Maud.
